Chennai is one of the biggest city in India and capital city of the Indian State of Tamilnadu. Lonely Planet has recently named Chennai as one of the top ten cities in the world to visit in 2015. When we decided to do “My Town” project, I thought I could cover more places in my city. But, I could not do more pictures due to some reason. As of now, I have limited to 3 most happening places in Chennai and concentrated on more of people of those places.  The places are Parry’s Corner, Marina Beach and Royapuram. Please find few of my pictures taken in these places.

Parry’s Corner
Parry’s corner or Parrys is one of the most happening places. The place is full of life and one of the busiest place in Chennai. It has a big vegetable and flower market. There are lots of whole-sale shops. The place is surrounded by lots of old Temples.  We can see different layers of people living here. It is one of my favourite place for people photography.

Marina Beach
Marina is a longest natural urban beach of India, along the Bay of Bengal. It is one of the major attraction in chennai. If we stroll along the beach, we could see kids playing crickets, volley ball matches, fish markets, flying kites and many more.

Royapuram
It is part of north chennai. The first railway station of south india was constructed here and opened in 1856. It is primarily a fisherman community area and fishing is major part of people’s life.

  1. A lovely set of images Mahesh. Some characteristic shots here but I particularly like the very first shot for the body language and the colour image of the boy in white. I so want to visit India! Thanks for sharing.
